Яку роль відіграють костюми та мода у кінематографі? Переглядаючи якийсь фільм, ми із захопленням розглядаємо одяг головних героїв, звертаємо увагу на силуети, кольори, фактуру тканин. Цілий образ персонажу може асоціююватися з конкретним вбранням! Як можна забути червоне плаття Маріон Котіяр у фінальній сцені "Дитячих ігор", зелену сукню Кіри Найтлі у "Спокуті" або силует Аніти Екберг у "Солодкому житті" легендарного Фелліні? Такі костюми не тільки копіюються та наслідуються, але і роблять безсмертними їх творців-дизайнерів.
Саме про це і хочуть зняти фільм мої друзі - документальний фільм про роль моди у кіно. Автором ідеї є Оленка Мартинюк, фешн-редактор журналу Marie Claire, з багаторічним досвідом роботи у фешн-індустрії. Вона належить до тих людей, які надихають. За що я їй безмежно вдячна.
Я впевнена, що фільм буде надзвичайно цікавим і викличе резонанс у світі моди. Перший крок зроблено - знято трейлер, до чого я теж мала приємність долучитись :) Тепер потрібно зібрати кошти на зйомки самого фільму, і ось тут нам потрібна Ваша допомога. What does this mean?
“Why Costumes Matter for Cinema” is the first piece of a multi-part documentary outlining the importance of costumes beyond the movie industry. With our work we plan to explore why these costumes have such an influence beyond the silver screen and why they are often copied in reallife.
Why this theme?
We will first initially focus on Italy; at Cinecitta, the major Italian film studio, we have begun research on this topic and found that no one else has tried to investigate this link between film costumes and real life. So, we have decided to put the spotlight on all the legendary costumemakers and costume studios based in Rome in order to highlight their impressive contribution to the world of fashion. Many of the costume designers who worked on such legendary movies as “La Dolce Vita”, “Il Gattopardo” and other are now in their golden years, and we feel the need to tell their stories before they are lost forever.
Who will we focus on in our work?
In our film we plan to speak with celebrated Italian costume designers, including Piero Tosi—alongtime collaborator with the late modernist film director Michelangelo Antonioni—and with the likes of Gucci, Dolce&Gabbana and others from the fashion industry who have long been ardent supporters of cinema and its contributions to society.
Why do we need financing?
Right now we are in the process of finalizing agreements for interviews with the above mentioned and others persons and preparing for shooting of the documentary. Therefore,we need your support to finance our shooting and modest travel expenses in Italy, music licensing, colour mastering and distribution.
We will mention all of our supporters in the final credits of our documentary.
We would like to thank you for all your generous contributions, whatever the amount.
When will the documentary be ready?
We plan to begin shooting this autumn and hope to finish it by the end of February 2013.
Who is on the team?
Olenka Martynyuk - project researcher and narrator
Olenka, a fashion editor at Marie Claire, is the driving force behind this documentary.Her more than five years of experience in the fashion industry, including three years spentwith the Ukrainian fashion programme “Nedelya Mody” (“Fashion Week”), have given her theopportunity to travel the world and develop unique personal contacts among such global fashionicons as Karl Lagerfeld, Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell and others. Her instincts as regardstrends, designers and the people who make the fashion world tick are second to none.
